“The Welcome Garden”

Commissioned to create eight ceramic tile  walls featuring bright, pop floral images composed of the various animals available for adoption at the shelter.

“Red Cedar Reflections”

Michigan State University Public Arts Committee, East Lansing, Michigan

Commissioned to create a dimensional mosaic artwork for the lobby of Case Hall.

METRO ORANGE LINE EXTENSION / NORDHOFF STATION

Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority / Metro Art, Los Angeles, California

Commissioned to design two panels and two elliptical mosaics for the Nordhoff Orange Line Station in Chatworth.

LONG BEACH TRANSIT BUS STOP SCULPTURE

Commissioned to create a sculpture for the corner of 4th and Linden in Long Beach.

Commissioned to create three mosaic walls for the community center of a low-cost housing development.

Commissioned to create a mosaic for a restaurant inspired by the Parisian Petit Palais, based on reconfigured

images of chandeliers and flowers.

SANTA MONICA PLACE PARKING GARAGE

Santa Monica Arts Commission, Santa Monica, California

Commissioned to create a 3,000 square foot tile mural on the exterior façade of the parking structure.

Commissioned to create a mosaic for a restaurant in the Central Park region of the ship, based on reconfigured images of trees in New York’s Central Park.

Commissioned to create two walls of ceramic tile facing Santa Monica Boulevard, in a pocket seating area in front of the market.

Commissioned to create an interior artwork comprising of five circular images in baked porcelain enamel on steel.

Commissioned to create two stained glass windows in the library which reflect the local flora and fauna as well as local aviation history.

RAYMOND RENAISSANCE

Commissioned to create mosaics for the building façade, based on preserved and rearranged interior architectural details of the historic Raymond Theater.

Commissioned to create a glass curtain wall in the Kedzie Brown Line Station.


“Points of View”

FBI HEADQUARTERS

General Services Administration, Lohan Anderson (architect), Chicago, Illinois.  

Commissioned to create an architectural scale lobby glass work.  Artwork is comprised of 15 cantilevered colored glass panels which cast colored reflections onto the lobby wall.


“Reverb”

Palm Springs Art Commission / 1% for the Arts, Palm Springs, California

Commissioned to create a small exterior glass work for the street entryway.


“Portal”

BURBANK LANCE TOWNHOMES

City of Burbank, Burbank, California

Commissioned to create gates and fences for two entryways. Pictorial images are etched in bronze and infilled with colored baked epoxy.  The metal is water-jet cut and pulled out into a low relief form.

Commissioned to create a colored glass window for the library entrance.

Commissioned to design two ceramic tile water features and create hand made relief ceramic tiles for application

in two fountains. Paseo Colorado, a multi use development, includes restaurants, retail, and private housing.

CAPITOL AREA EAST END COMPLEX

California State Capitol Department of Education, Sacramento, California

Awarded a design only commission to create photo engraved images and quotations for the elevator doors in the State Capitol

Department of Education Building.


“A Tree is Known by its Fruit”

CASA BLANCA FAMILY LEARNING CENTER,

Riverside Arts Council, Riverside, California.   

Commissioned to create architectural scale photo etched copper panels.  These images incorporate aspects of the “Shades of Los Angeles Project.” This is a photo-documentation of the history of the Casa Blanca neighborhood and the regional citrus industry.


“Nature’s Storytellers”

TRAILSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL,

Municipality of Anchorage, Museum of Art and History, Anchorage, Alaska. 

Commissioned to create architectural scale colored glass windows for the school library. This also includes six fourteen foot porcelain enamel columns entitled “Nature’s Storytellers.”  Colored floor panels create a pathway to the artwork throughout the school.

2000


“Kaleidoscope Dreams”

NORTH HOLLYWOOD METRO RAIL STATION,

Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Metro Art,  Los Angeles, California.

Commissioned to create 4,000 square feet of architectural scale hand painted ceramic tile murals for this showcase terminus subway station.  Each of the fourteen kaleidoscope panels focusses on a specific aspect of history of North Hollywood.


1999


PUBLIC ART CONSULTANT, SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD REDEVELOPMENT,

City of West Hollywood, West Hollywood, California. 

Commissioned to develop and write both the Public Art Program for the Redevelopment of Santa Monica Boulevard and

the Public Art Implementation Plan.  My role was to conceptualize, visualize and integrate proposed sites for public art

into the City Master Plan in collaboration with the Los Angeles office of Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership and Patricia Smith, Landscape Architect. This Public Art  Program will produce at least eight commissioned artworks for the City of

West Hollywood over the period of ten years with a  budget between  $500,000 and $1,000,000.


“Multiplicity / Various Ways of Seeing”

PLAYA PACIFIC TOWNHOMES, ART IN PUBLIC PLACES, Culver City Redevelopment Agency, Culver City, California. 

Commissioned to create six rectangular walls in a staggered formation to flank the entrance of a large private development.
